Group of Floor Vases
These stunning vases are handcrafted in villages of Indonesia. The potter's primary tools are her hands. Once the pot is formed, and while still damp, it is burnished for hours to achieve a fine shine. It is then placed in the sun to dry, followed by firing. This takes place in an open bonfire.
Hot pots pulled from the fire are then brushed with ground tamarind or rice bran seeds to achieve the desired color.
The result is a piece of art for your home, representing the heritage of the Sasak people.
